Well, I decided to log into my Xanga site, just for kicks, and I am surprised by what I see. Not just with what I decided to write about or how I wrote, but I am surprised by the picture I have set as my profile picture. I am surprised that I have the title of this blog set as "The Life and Times of JJ the Jet Plane." Now I am not saying that I feel that I have grown in the past two years to where all of that seems immature to me, maybe it does, but it's also surprising to me because I'd forgotten what it looks like.
Just like my rather boring rant on my xanga blog page, I feel like my life has changed monumentally since I last posted. I am sitting here in my dorm room at 1:21am after just coming in from playing basketball with a friend that I met just over 6 months ago. I have changed along with my life. Some changes for the better, some not. I am doing better with getting things done, like homework. It is really hard not to do homework when there are people (other than my parents) expecting and grading it. So, this change has been for the better--I want to succeed academically.
I also feel that socially I have improved. My RA or SLA, not sure which, told me how quiet I was when I first got here. I've definitely become more comfortable around the new people I've met here. The changes were so huge and instant that it probably overwhelmed me at the beginning, but I got through it. I mean, comon...I hadn't walked into a classroom since Mrs. Page's kindergarten's class when I walked into Music Foundations on that first Thursday at 8:10am.
Well, not that I've said all that much so far. I wonder who really reads these anymore anyways. I just felt like talking about something lol.
But I had to let everyone know that I am taking the ACT test tomorrow morning. I would appreciate any prayers, as this it the first public school test I have taken in....umm....10 years. I have taken other tests for other things, but the last test I took for school in a public setting was probably in kindergarten. Anyways, I have to get up in the morning, so I will talk at ya all later.
I am posting....I know it has been a month and no its not on purpose. I just haven't thought of posting for awhile.
Hmm...what have I done for the last month...
Well, I went with my dad and my brothers for the Youth Deer Hunt, and we didn't see any deer. We did, on the other hand, see alot of turkeys...alot of turkeys. I have to say, turkeys look really weird flying...especially when they drop out of trees. It was rather enjoyable watching them...it kept me awake in betweem seeing...no deer. We also went to Eastern Ohio to see my mom's family. We got to visit my grandpa (the one with cancer), my uncle and aunt, and a few of my mom's cousins. I had fun eating too much food. I did manage to stick to one plate of food for the meal, but that doesnt really count for the grazing afterwards.
What really scares me (not really), is the fact that tomorrow we are having Thanksgiving here at my house for my dad's side of the family which can mean only one thing. More Food. And family. I will definitely enjoy the family more then the food...especially since you dont get fat from talking to your family for too long. I wish I could say the same about the food. For all my family, I cant wait to see you all down here tomorrow. Bye until then...
I hope that everyone who attended had fun too. It was a beautiful day, which is good, because yesterday was cold, and it is snowing again today....grrrr. Winter is coming wayyy too quickly. I think the temperature on Saturday was in the 50's, and today it somewhere around 35.... I missed seeing people that I had hoped would be there, but that's okay...I will live. Hopefully we can get together some other time. Well, if anybody has any comments about our party or me just gimme a few on this post.
This past weekend, my family went to Mansfield for a family church camp at Light and Life Camp. I had alot of fun. Mostly because I got to catch up with alot of old friends that I haven't seen in a few months. I also enjoyed the games that Bob and Becky Perez planned, and I am sure alot of people enjoyed watching me and the other youth playing them. The most fun I had was in the "old dorm". Kinda like the haunted house of the camp. You'd be surprised how spooky a pitch black, three story barn with ALOT of little room gets. It was alot of fun scaring people, and I also got spooked when a girl and her mom jumped out of a room screaming inches from my (Ashley and Becky). It only spooked me a little, but my body was totally freaked out....my knees buckled. They got a good laugh from it. We also had a finger rocket war....sounds strange, but they pretty much just rubber band rockets. That was fun too. I also had fun playing ping-pong in the "Teen Shack". Josh and I had a twinnage match with Caitlin and Lauren. We ended up winning, but it was an interesting game.
I hope this fills everyone on with the past weekend....I will write again soon.
